- Does Donorbox have a native Google Sheets integration?
- Not a first-party, built-in one. Most nonprofits sync gift data into Sheets through Zapier or Make, or through a scheduled CSV export — the right method depends on your gift volume and budget.
- Can this replace our CRM?
- No. A synced spreadsheet is useful for lightweight reporting and reconciliation, but it doesn't give you donor relationship history, segmentation, or stewardship tracking the way a CRM does.
- How do you prevent duplicate rows?
- We key the sync off Donorbox's unique donation ID rather than donor name or date, and add a dedupe check so retries and re-runs don't double-count gifts.
- What happens if the sync fails?
- We set up error notifications so a failed sync gets flagged to a named owner instead of silently going unnoticed until a report doesn't match.
- When should we move from Sheets to a real CRM?
- When you need donor segmentation, multi-year giving history, soft credits, or more than one or two people relying on the sheet for decisions — see our CRM consulting page for the signs.
