Nonprofit website migration

Move the site without losing the audience.

Content inventory, URL mapping, redirects, SEO preservation, forms and integrations, staging QA, and post-launch monitoring — especially when moving into WordPress or Next.js.

How we migrate

Discipline before the cutover weekend.

  • 01

    Inventory

Current-site crawl, content inventory, CMS assessment, and a clear list of what must move versus what should be rewritten.

  • 02

    URL & SEO map

URL mapping, redirect planning, metadata migration, and analytics preservation so redesign day is not a ranking cliff.

  • 03

    Content & media move

Pages, media, forms, donation and CRM integrations, search, and permissions — with notes on what is automatic versus manual review.

  • 04

    Stage, QA, launch

Staging, accessibility checks, launch plan, and post-launch monitoring for 404s, tracking, and critical journeys.

Trade-offs

Simple stacks versus complex machinery.

Some organizations need a maintainable WordPress house. Others need a custom Next.js front end with clearer engineering ownership. We help you weigh builder simplicity against long-term control — without pretending every CMS is equal.

Do not break giving

Forms, donations, and CRM hooks travel with the site.

Common migration failures ignore donation processors, CRM embeds, and thank-you paths until launch morning. We treat those journeys as first-class inventory.

Questions

Before we map the first redirect.

Which CMS platforms do you migrate to?
Most often WordPress (ACF or Elementor Pro) or custom Next.js for teams with engineering capacity. We do not claim Drupal implementation expertise. If you are leaving Drupal or another legacy CMS, we can plan the move into stacks we support.
What is migrated automatically vs manually?
Bulk content and media can often be scripted. Navigation IA, donation flows, complex forms, and nuanced page layouts usually need manual review. We document both lists before kickoff.
How do you preserve SEO during a redesign?
Crawl-derived redirect inventories, metadata checks, Search Console monitoring, and post-launch QA. Our redesign guide covers the same discipline in educational form.
Is migration the same as a full redesign?
Not always. Some projects are replatforms with restrained design change. Others couple migration with a new visual system. We separate those scopes so you are not surprised by either.
